Not sure which one to pick yet? Don’t worry.. once you book, I’ll help you choose the perfect spot based on your style (beachy, mountain, forest, gardens), the season, and your kids’ ages so your session feels easy + fun.
Below are my top 12 photoshoot locations in Kelowna, West Kelowna, and the Okanagan - My favourites that I will always recommend
Sanctuary Gardens (West Kelowna)
This spot is hands down one of my favourite photoshoot locations in the Okanagan. One of the reasons I love it so much is because there are SO many different areas on the property, and each one gives a totally different feel. You can get lake views, grassy fields, gorgeous trees to sit under, a sweet little gazebo, and even a glass greenhouse. And the view of the lake from the top of the hill is honestly stunning, especially around golden hour.
It’s also a private property, which means it feels super peaceful and tucked away. It’s honestly such a hidden little gem up on the hill, away from the highway, and most people don’t even know it’s there. It’s perfect if you want your session to feel relaxed, quiet, and a little extra special.
Dog Friendly Note: Dogs are permitted on the property (yay!) which makes it such a perfect option if you want to include your pup in your session. Theres lots of grassy space for them to run around, and it's such a fun way to get a few sweet family photos with your dog too.
Important note: Sanctuary Gardens requires a $50.00+GST fee to use the property.
Best for: families, couples, maternity, branding, weddings, engagements + proposals
Vibe: warm & neutral, grassy fields, dreamy garden, romantic & timeless, lake views
Location: 3792 Carrall Rd, West Kelowna
Knox Mountain Park (Kelowna)
Knox Mountain is one of those iconic Kelowna locations for a reason. It gives you incredible views over the city and the lake, plus a mix of open trails and natural scenery that always photographs beautifully. If you want that classic Kelowna/Okanagan feel in your photos, this spot is always a favourite.
It’s especially stunning around golden hour when the light is soft and warm, and it’s a great option for couples and families who want photos that feel scenic but still relaxed and natural.
Dog friendly note: Dogs are allowed on the trails at Knox Mountain, but they must be kept on leash, which makes it a great option if you’d like to include your pup in your session.
Winter access note: Once the frost hits, the gates are often closed to access the upper parking lot where some of the best views and trails are. During the winter months, the best option is to access Knox Mountain from Royal Avenue, which connects to the trails above the dog park and still gives you beautiful scenery for photos.
Best for: couples, engagements, families, lifestyle
Vibe: scenic + open views, golden hour glow, natural + timeless
Location: 450 Knox Mountain Dr, Kelowna
Bertram Creek Regional Park (Kelowna)
Bertram Regional Park is such a beautiful and versatile photoshoot location because it offers two very different looks in one spot, depending on which access point you use.
I usually start from the upper parking lot (the second lot). Just past the sports field, there’s a rocky/cliff area that’s an incredible spot for wedding, family and couples photos, with stunning views looking out toward Kelowna and across the lake to West Kelowna. This area is especially beautiful at sunset, when the light is warm and golden and reflects off the lake.
The lower parking lot gives you access to the beach area below the rocky section. This is perfect if you want shoreline photos, walking shots along the water, and that relaxed, beachy lakeside vibe. Together, these two access points give you lots of variety in one session without having to travel far.
Dog note: Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted at Bertram Regional Park.
Best for: families, couples, maternity, branding
Vibe: lakeside views, rocky cliffs, beachy shoreline, golden hour glow, scenic + airy
Location: 5680 Lakeshore Rd, Kelowna
Quails Gate Winery (West Kelowna)
Quails’ Gate Winery is such a beautiful option if you’re looking for a location that feels a little more elevated and timeless. With rolling vineyard views, manicured grounds, and stunning scenery overlooking Okanagan Lake, this spot has a romantic, refined feel that photographs beautifully. It’s especially gorgeous from late spring through fall when the vines are full and green.
There is so much variety in one place here. You get vineyard rows, open grassy areas, elegant winery architecture, and lake views all within a short walk. It’s a stunning setting for couples sessions, engagement photos, surprise proposals, and even family photos if you’re wanting something polished and classic with that signature Okanagan wine country feel.
Golden hour here is especially magical, when the light hits the vines and lake just right and everything feels warm and glowy. This location works beautifully for sessions where you want your photos to feel romantic, relaxed, and a little bit luxurious.
Dog friendly note: Dogs are welcome on the outdoor grounds and patio areas at Quails’ Gate Winery but must stay on leash. Dogs are not permitted inside buildings, so it’s always best to plan for outdoor portions of the session.
Best for: couples, engagements, families, maternity, surprise proposals
Vibe: vineyard views, elegant, romantic, timeless, Okanagan wine country
Location: 3303 Boucherie Rd, West Kelowna
Gellatly Nut Farm (West Kelowna)
Gellatly Nut Farm is such a gorgeous and classic West Kelowna location because you get the best of both worlds. It has that cozy, shaded vibe under the canopy of trees, and then you can walk right out to the pebble beach for lake and mountain views. The trees make it feel a little darker and moodier in the best way (especially in the summer and fall), but that shade is also amazing for soft, flattering light.
It’s beautiful at sunset of course, but it’s also one of my favourite spots for a morning session in spring or summer. It’s peaceful, not as busy, and the light is so pretty.
This is also an amazing location for families and kids because there’s a playground close by, plus lots of wildlife (you’ll often see squirrels, ducks, and sometimes even deer), which makes it such a fun little adventure for little ones.
Dog Friendly Note: Dogs are not permitted inside the fenced heritage nut tree area, but you can bring them along for photos in the grassy park outside of the fenced section and near the beach.
Best for: families, couples, maternity, engagements
Vibe: shaded + cozy, lakeside + pebble beach, natural, peaceful, mountain views
Location: 2375 Whitworth Rd, West Kelowna
Dilworth Mountain Park (Kelowna)
Dilworth Mountain Park is such a beautiful option if you want a quieter location that still gives you variety and gorgeous scenery. Most of the park feels calm and natural with grassy areas and trails, and as you get closer to the end of the park, the views really open up. You often get distant views of Kelowna, the lake, and the surrounding mountains, which adds such a pretty scenic touch to your photos without feeling too busy.
This spot is especially magical in the spring, usually around late April to early May, when the Okanagan wild sunflowers are in full bloom. The grassy areas are often covered in a blanket of these soft yellow flowers, which makes the location feel warm, bright, and so dreamy for photos.
Dog friendly note: Just like Knox Mountain, dogs are allowed at Dilworth Mountain Park but must be kept on leash, making it a great option if you’d like to include your pup in your session.
Best for: families, couples, maternity, lifestyle
Vibe: calm + natural, grassy fields, spring florals, soft scenic views
Location: 2100 Chilcotin Crescent, Kelowna
Flamingo Room at MotherLove Ferments (Kelowna)
The Flamingo Room at MotherLove Ferments is a creative indoor studio space that’s perfect for branding sessions, product shoots, headshots, and content creation. Located upstairs above the kombucha bar, this bright studio has wonderful natural light that photographers love, making it a great choice for sessions where you want clean, modern images without worrying about weather conditions.
This space is roughly 615 square feet and is open for bookings during regular studio hours, giving you plenty of room to move, create, and style your session exactly how you envision it. Since it’s located indoors above the kombucha bar, you might hear subtle background sounds from the space below, which adds a fun, authentic vibe but doesn’t take away from the quality of the images.
Another bonus for branding sessions here is that after your shoot you can head downstairs to the kombucha bar for drinks or refreshments. As a thank-you for booking the Flamingo Room, guests receive a 10 % discount on kombucha, water kefir, and vegan menu items at the bar below, which is a nice way to end a session or meet with clients after a shoot.
Best for: branding sessions, product shoots, headshots, creative content, small business marketing
Vibe: bright + minimal, natural light, modern indoor space, clean + versatile
Location: 889 Vaughan Ave #109, Kelowna
Downtown Kelowna
Downtown Kelowna is such a great option if you want photos that feel modern, lifestyle focused, and a little more editorial. This area works beautifully for walking sessions and gives you so much variety in a short amount of time. From textured walls and storefronts to staircases, alleyways, and clean city backdrops. The movement of walking the streets makes photos feel natural, effortless, and very “in the moment.”
This location is especially popular for branding sessions because it allows us to capture a mix of wide shots, candid movement, detail images, and clean editorial-style photos all within a few blocks. It’s perfect for entrepreneurs, creatives, and small business owners who want images that feel confident, professional, and aligned with their brand. Downtown also works well year-round and is great for morning sessions or golden hour.
Best for: branding sessions, couples, lifestyle sessions, older kids + teens
Vibe: modern + urban, editorial, lifestyle, movement-based, clean + minimal
Location: Downtown Kelowna
Upper Glenrosa (West Kelowna)
Upper Glenrosa is such a great option if you’re hoping for that winter wonderland look, especially in years when there isn’t much snow down in the valley. It’s beautiful up there in the winter and gives you that cozy, snowy, “in the woods” vibe without having to travel all the way to Big White.
There are some really pretty areas near Crystal Mountain and around the Telemark area that work perfectly for winter sessions. Snow photos here feel calm, peaceful, and a little magical, with soft light and a clean white backdrop that photographs beautifully. Or if you and your family and friends are having a bush day, there are some great spots up here to capture your Sunday funday.
This is also a great location if you’d love to include your pet in your session and want that forest feel. Dogs aren’t allowed on the regular groomed Telemark ski or snowshoe trails during ski season, but there are designated K9 dog trails that you can use. Just keep your pup leashed until you’re across the road into the dog-friendly trail area.
Best for: families, couples, maternity, winter mini sessions
Vibe: wintery + cozy, snowy woods, peaceful, mountain feel
Important note: This location is weather-dependent, and winter road conditions can change quickly. Winter tires and a bit of extra drive time are always recommended.
Location: West Kelowna
Hardy Falls Regional Park (Peachland)
Hardy Falls is such a beautiful hidden gem if you’re drawn to a lush, forested, nature escape kind of vibe. This location feels peaceful and tucked away, surrounded by tall trees, greenery, and the gentle sound of water, which makes sessions here feel calm and intimate. It’s a really nice change from open beach or lookout locations and gives your photos a cozy, earthy feel.
The trail is relatively short and easy, making it a great option if you want a bit of adventure without a long hike. There is a small bridge along the trail where you can capture photos with the waterfall softly flowing in the background, which adds a really pretty, natural element to your images.
Hardy Falls is especially special in the fall. If you time your session just right, you can see the Kokanee salmon run, when the salmon swim upstream to spawn. This is such a fun experience for kids during a family session, and the vibrant red colours of the Kokanee moving through the water make the creek look incredibly beautiful at this time of year.
Dog friendly note: Dogs are welcome at Hardy Falls but must stay on leash.
Best for: families, couples, maternity, and lifestyle sessions
Vibe: forest, earthy greens, peaceful, dreamy, natural
Location: 6649 Hardy St, Peachland
Antlers Beach (Peachland)
Antlers Beach is such a beautiful option if you’re looking for that relaxed, beachy, Okanagan summer vibe. This location has a clean, open feel with the lake right there, making it perfect for photos that feel light, natural, and carefree. It’s a great spot if you want movement in your session, whether that’s walking along the shoreline, playing with the kids, or soaking up those quiet moments by the water.
This beach is especially gorgeous for sunrise or early morning sessions, when the lake has that soft glimmer and sparkle across the water and everything feels calm and peaceful. It’s also beautiful at sunset, when the light is warm and golden and the shoreline glows. The open space makes it easy to get a variety of shots in a short amount of time, from wide scenic images to close, candid moments.
Dog friendly note: Dogs are welcome at Antlers Beach but must stay on leash.
Best for: families, couples, maternity, lifestyle sessions
Vibe: beachy, warm, airy, relaxed, summery
Location: 6711 Highway 97 South, Peachland
Ornamental Gardens (Summerland)
Summerland Ornamental Gardens is a stunning gardens location just outside of Summerland that feels like a hidden floral paradise. With over 15 acres of lovingly tended heritage land filled with colourful flower beds, shaded walking paths, and seasonal blossoms, this spot is truly a flower lover’s dream throughout spring and summer. In early season you’ll find fresh spring blooms, and as summer continues the gardens come alive with vibrant colours, lovely meadows, and fragrant floral sections that make every part of the property feel picture perfect.
There are so many unique areas around the gardens to explore and photograph, from lush perennial borders and butterfly hotspots to shaded seating nooks and open spaces that let in soft natural light. The variety of plantings, textures, and colours gives you so many different looks in one session, it's perfect for family photos, couple sessions, maternity shoots, or even surprise proposals. It feels peaceful, timeless, and really magical when the flowers are in full bloom.
